Now I dont usually subscribe to naming and shaming people or organisations publically, but I dont want anybody else to be stung the way I was.

The saga with Max from Proseat began in April when I placed my order for: Coulson conversion kit, covered in "Prestige Italian Leather", Rear seat covers in "Prestige Italaina Leather" and enough material to cover my door trims, console lid etc.

Now as my car has the grange style rear seat (2 individual buckets) he did not have the pattern so I had to pull mine apart and send them to him to copy.

The problems began almost immediately, before I placed the order communication with Max was slow but eventually I got through and the order was placed.

However after I had placed the order (and paid a deposit) all communication with Max ceased. I wanted confirmation of my order via email and confirmation that he had recieved my deposit and that he had recieved the covers I had sent him (at my expense).

Nothing for 4 weeks, no communication at all. Eventually I rang the number he had listed on ebay and after he remembered who I was and what I was talking about he told me that he had NOT recieved my covers I had sent him.

Now, I sent them normal snail mail thinking that they would get there ok (silly move I know and i've learny my lesson there), but NO he reckons they hadnt been recieved (3 weeks after I sent them), as I didnt send them registered post there was nothing the post office could do to try and find out if they had been delivered or not and I was told that they wouldnt even begin to try and look until a "delivery timeframe" had been met - i had to wait another 2 weeks.

Now I called Max every second day to ask if he had recieved the covers and could he call me should they arrive. No word, until AFTER I called the post office to finally launch thier investigation into my lost package, when I called Max to inform him that the post office could not help he tells me "Oh, they arrived last week".

So this is 5-6 weeks after placing my order and he hasnt eve BEGUN to make my covers. At this point I had purchased a complete interior of a member on here who had a wreck with a shale interior (I ordered CREAM covers on my new seats) to match the seats and covers I was getting.

I left it for another 2 weeks when I called Max for a update on how my covers were coming along (no hassles here mind you, I was still not pissed off yet) and he tells me that they are almost done and I should have them in the next 2 weeks.

As I am a bit of a noob when it comes to pulling stuff apart (without breaking it!) I asked Cookie to give me a hand pulling all the old interior out and putting the new stuff in (door trims, dash, console, plastics, the front seats, carpet - everything that wasnt steel) in preperation for my Coulsons and rear covers arriving, I also paid the remainder owing on the order.

2 weeks go by, no covers, no communication from Max despite repeated daily emails from me. At this point I started getting annoyed. I started calling Max every day when I got home from work (0900 - I work nights) he eventually gave me a bogus tracking Australia Post tracking number (even though I was told and was under the impression that I was paying for TNT postage) that corellated to nothing on the Australia Post tracking system.

Max assured me that the package had been sent and I should recieve it soon. After ANOTHER 2 weeks of this bullshit I started to crack it at him. He eventually told me that the package "had been turned around at the airport due to its size and weight and the fact that it contained metal" and that he was picking it back up and would send it to me poste haste via FedEx.

Now I recieved a package another WEEK later containing ONLY the Coulson Foams - NO COVERS! So, I call Max AGAIN this time I am not so polite in my dealing with him, I want my covers and I want them NOW - this bullshit has gone on for three months now and I've had enough.

At this point he starts making excuses telling me that it was taking so long becuase they had to make up the patterns for the rear seats etc and offering me extra's as compensation - I told him I dont want anything extra, I just want my ****ing covers so I can put my car back together.

He tells me that they are on thier way..... ANOTHER 2 WEEKS GO BY..... and several angry phone calls later I FINALLY recieve my covers.... AND THEY'RE THE WRONG ****ING COLOUR!!!!! I asked for CREAM (I mentioned it earlier) and the covers are Beige.

So I call Max A-****ING-GAIN! and tell him this, he then tells me that the Coulsons dont come in the same colours as are displayed on the colour template on his website - he says that they only come in 3 or 4 different colours and Cream is not one of them.

Now at this point I had had enough of his BS, so I told him that if that was the case why did he not tell me so when I placed my order, or in the numerous emails I had sent him asking for confirmation afterwards, OR when I had called him to confirm the order (and I did so several times throughout this whole ordeal SPECIFICALLY mentioning the colour CREAM), he had no answers to this and I had had enough, I just wanted it to be over and to get my car back together.

The colour grew on me eventually - but the point is it wasnt what I asked for, paid for and wanted.

To add further insult to injury, the extra material he had promised me was not included in the package containing the seat covers so I had to ask for that as well and wait another week for it to arrive.

Max told me towards the end of the saga that the covers were coming from "his factory in the Philippines" thus confirming to me that he had been bullshitting me all along about when they were coming.

He also adertises on his website that any average Joe could fit these covers himself in his shed with no specialised tools required. Cookie confirms that this is a load of crap - he is a motor trimmer by trade and it took him at least a couple of days of solid work to get the covers to fit over the seats.

This has been the WORST customer service experience in MY LIFE and I said that once it was all over that I would be naming and shaming Max for my inconveniance and that is exactly what I am doing.

The end product is OK, but nowhere near what I was expecting or had been led to believe. Yes, it was cheaper than if I had of gone to a trimmers and had it all custom made - and I have well and truly learnt my lesson there!

So everyone read my story and beware!

I'm sorry you also had to go through this bullsh|t mate . I ordered some ve gts foams off him on eBay . I also ordered enough extra trim to cover dash door inserts glove box . Basically everything . Extra $500 ... 3 months passed by I was extremely pissed off with the amount of excuses he was giving me . By the time they had arrived is was like you said just the foams but I did have covers in correct colors but no extra material

I tried to open a dispute with eBay but it had been so long since the purchase there was nothing they could do .

Some very friendly phone calls later told they where shipped at same time in a separate package must have gone missing so he would send again at his expense ... All bullshit the **** stole $500 from me and to top it off the seat foams had holes cut in the wrong spots . I also called about this and he said that I had cut these holes and there was nothing he could do . I blew my sh|t at him and have never recommended the company to anyone . He is a f*cking thief !!!

I just had a look through his eBay feedback ... No surprise there countless neg feedback about being slow wrong orders sent and missing packages also plenty of excuses And people by receiving the extras they pay for . I'm sure if you went into his shop it would be all fine but the items he sends out is just bs for the price we pay .

Here's the mottos I live by:
1. Always use trackable freight solutions
2. If a company cannot be fked to look after you at the presales stage then sure as shit you ain't gunna be looked after post sales
3. Never pay cash upfront, or part payments cash, always EFT or if you aren't entirely confident pay the extra to use credit card services so you can use your bank in the event of blatant outright theft/fraud as you have found with this mongrel.

Stick to these top gear top tips and you should be fine.

If I lived in Brisbane I would have paid him a little visit a long time ago to sort it out. I think towards the end he understood that as well.

The items i got werent advertised on eBay so i couldnt buy through there. I paid direct deposit and have well and truly learnt my lesson there!

Now I have the seats in the car i'm actually pretty happy with how they actually turned out, but like I said they are the wrong colour, and were absolute mother****ers to fit my mate the trimmer told me. If I didnt have him to help me I either would have butchered them trying to fit them, or I would have had to pay a trimmer to do it thus costing me more money.

When I started out looking to get a retrim done I had seen his stuff on ebay but was hesitant to buy without talking to some people who actually had used him. There was a thread here that I posted in a few times and got some feedback there, but nobody I had contact with had anywhere near as bad an experience as I had so I was prepared to be ****ed around a bit, but not as much as I was. Hence this thread - I feel it is my duty to warn anyone else who is considering using this guy for a retrim how he does business.
