Hey guys

I have got some kind of a roof leak above the right rear cargo window on my wagon. Cant find the source though Im thinking the SS came with a trim that runs along the roof which is mounted by 4 bolts from under the roof lining inside. I have already pulled this back near the trouble area but cant possibly believe its the problem.

Has anyone else had the same issue or could suggest where I go to get someone to solve it for me (not Holden $$$$)

Cheers

How does the roof rack attach on these? If there are captive nuts that go into the roof look there as a seal may have died. If the system is the same as the VEs then that won't be your problem but quite a number of 4wds use the captive nuts and repeated fit and removals of the roof rack means the seals don't work so well and water gets in.

It will be the seals as mj has pointed out. You will need to remove all the side trim from the left hand side of the vehicle as well as the grip handles on the inside and trim at the top as well, just to get the roof liner to come down enough to get to all the nuts. 4 or 5 of them i think. you need to take the roof rack trim off and apply urethane or silicone sealant to the seals and then refit the rail.

If you going to attempt it be carefull when all the nuts are undone as not to drop them down inside the sheet metal of the roof. PITA to get out. When tey are all undone lift the rail from the back gently until all the studs clear the roof holes, then pull the rail back toward the rear of the car otherwise you could snap off the plastic trim at the front.

Good luck.
