Hi All

I am looking at getting my wagon converted to gas and am just trying to see what others have done with either tank location or spare tyre relocation (when using a donut tank) in the commodore wagons.

Any suggestions with experience and photos welcome!

Thanks

Chris

most new cars come with a spray can of tyre goo if you get a flat. ditch the spare, go the goo

I had the "goo" kit in there and replaced with a spare lol

I have the goo kit but prefer the idea of carrying a spare where possible

Have the Donut Tank in our R8 Tourer. have that goo stuff. Our spare wont fit standing up on the side like it did in My old VY SS Wagon on lpg. just not enough room in a VE wagon for that. well not with the HSV spare anyway. still also carry the spare in the boot laying flat most of the time tho.

Hey mike does the wheel stay put pretty well? I have the mat in the back so thinking tyre on the mat would hold pretty well?

The goo does work very well...

Without the Mat it did move a little. but now with the mat under it never moves at all.

Personally I'd secure the spare wheel rather than leave it sitting. Heaven forbid, but in a big enough crash you don't want a spare to the back of the head.

Unless you punch the tyre off the rim like my misses did the other day. Rare yes. But that has reaffirmed to me the importance of a spare. Even if its a space saver.

Spare needs to be full size as its a redline so space savers don't work over the brembo front brakes. Laying it in the back may be the only option. Is there other tank locations? Or is spare wheel well only place?

you can get 18" space savers im pretty sure, would that cover the brembos?

Have been advised 19" and up only
