Hey guys, can anyone tell me what its worth roughly to have an LSD rebuilt (mine whines bad) and have some 3.9 gears installed at the same time which I will supply? (Ill also pull the diff out of the car and reinstall it)
Im trying to weigh up having this done, or buying a complete 3.9 diff, few evilbay sellers are regularly selling complete 3.9 diffs and have pretty good feedback (unless someone here has other opinions of them, through experience?) and they are around $950

Most places are usually around $1200 - $1300 I believe. Around $600+ for new gears and the same again for a rebuild. The only problem I see with evilBay feedback is people usually give it just after they install the diffs, so you have no idea what happens if it craps itself a month or more later.

Yeah true, $600 for install/rebuild is pretty good. I keep seeing 'motive gear/RTS' diff gears for around $450 new, are these any good? Pretty sure a few members on here have used them

For that price I'll skip on the ebay diff and buy some RTS gears, pull the diff and drop it off. Cheers guys.
Rts gears r normally noisy spend a bit extra and get geniue gears

I have a set off motive gear 3.9s with tru trac and they whine. Get a well known and respected diff SPECIALEST to install them and you should be good.

Genuine it is then, my diff at the moment is noisy and I hate it, drowns out the engine noise!
With diff removed and i supplied 3.7 gm gears, got rebuilt for $500 no noise and havnt been the niciest to them in the last 2yrs

Hey mate,
I used Andrew at Supa Trik Engineering to install my diff. From memory it was about $600 but included high quality bearings and a total rebuild. I had 3.91s installed, trutrac centre and harrop rear cover. Had absolutely no issues since. Andrew is one of those guys who runs his own small business... Meaning the prices dont need to cover a fancy show room or anything... Plus its his reputation on the line so you can be sure the quality is excellent (bit like dealing with Dus for Duspeed).
Anyway if your looking for someone to do it i suggest giving him a call.

Thanks mate, I'll hold onto the details. I'm not looking for anything extreme, just a nice tight diff for street use. Cheers
