I can't seem to add an avatar

I've read through the FAQ's and i can't seem to find the options to add an avatar as is described in the FAQ section.

am i going wrong somewhere ? or do i need a moderator to activate this function ?

Also i've been on this forum for a little while now and whilst i don't do a lot of posting, I do a lot of reading and have found this website a valuable resource.
So how do i go about getting Validated if i don't know any other LS1 members ?

You need to be validated to have an avator,also to become validated you need to be nominated by 2 current validated members.
Easier said then done but can achieved with meeting or attend forum cruises or organised events.

Thanks guy's well it looks like that won't be happening anytime soon, as i don't really go out cruising and i work o/seas so i've got Buckley's chance of meeting other forum members for this purpose
