Ok I have the use of a 2006 astra auto while the parts eater is getting manicured however the astra has an issue that if it goes into park I cannot release or move the shifter for about 4 to 5 minutes for some reason. I know you have to pressure the brake pedal as a standard safety system but for some reason it sticks.. Anyone got some experiance in this issue for a quick fix???

Check the little switch behind the brake pedal. My mum had an vectra that displayed the same symptoms and it was the the brake lock out that had failed

Edit I pulled it out and repaired it myself so no cost and never failed again after that but from memory this wasn't really an expensive part from holdens
