Looking for a ve ss sportwagon for my mrs (at least thats how im selling it... )
Been looking on here, ebay, gumtree, carsales. Havn't got as far as going to dealers yet. Can anyone suggest any other good online places or specific dealers to score a good car for a good price?
Im blue mountains just west of Sydney, but traveling a bit for the right car is not an issue.

I reckon carsales is your best bet. Driving around to dealers most likely a waste of time. New or used? I'm guessing used if you're checking Gumtree, eBay etc..
Big cars aren't selling all that well at the moment so I reckon your best bet is to email dealers far and wide telling them what you're looking for eg year, approx kms, extras you'd like, what you're looking to pay etc and some with suitable vehicles will get back to you. Just make sure to do a REVS check on any you consider, even at dealers, because there are a surprising number of repairable write offs around. :nutkick:

I use 3, carpoint (carsales), drive and trading post. I tend to only use ebay for parts etc. If you have to travel anyway, don't discount interstate and as Wonky mentions do all your homework as many flood / cyclone affected vehicles from up here ended up down there.
For what it's worth, I've been tracking E1 Tourers over the passed few months and the prices seem to have finally start to turn south.

cheers, i figure early new year they might have another drop, especially the 2012 models. Seen one i really like but the price is high end. Also been told you can get a pretty good deal on last years model brand new from the dealer early in the year

We quite often sell cars to people interstate as we mainly only stock used Holdens and thats it.
if you would like our current stock list, PM me and let me know. Im based in Victoria and deal with NSW and QLD often.
Cheers, Mick

Agree with this.
Wife picked up a 2yo just off lease 2010 ex SES SV6 with leather and 19s for $23k at pickles Canberra, fixed price.
Had 62000km
With the VF just months away if you can wait a few more I'm sure the deals will be even better on VE's

Agree with aus8. Looking at getting into an SSV but I should probably wait. Private prices will also drop. I'm sure people will put their ves up once the vf is released.

If you are looking for brand new, it would pay off waiting for the VF as Holden will give dealers incentives to get rid of stock.
If you are looking second hand, there is no point waiting as the price is controlled by the last owner, not Holden.

Fair points all around. I will check out the auctions too, had a quick look but couldn't see any manual wagons.
A new ve currently looks close to 50 on road from what i can figure, i wonder how much the old stock would go for when the VF comes out
Decisions decisions eh

Mate you live in the mountains your local dealer @ Katoomba from what I can see & heard are not a bad mob to deal with.
A couple years back when I was buying our Calais V wagon it was either them or Suttons @ Arncliffe.
Must admit Suttons done me a very sweet deal!!
Good luck with it.

There is an auction place in Toongabbie called Carlins, they used to do ex HNL lease cars, I don't know if they still do, might be worth a look - on the weekend they only open Saturday morning, they do some cars fixed price to public, but otherwise only auction to dealers. If you are going new, usually in December most manufacturers will be doing end of year deals to clear 2012 stock, and also December is generally a slow month.
