Hi Guys,

Three weeks ago I purchased some Aeroforce gauges from Aeroforce Tech in the USA for my VY SS. Todd was awesome to deal with since I purchased on a Friday morning and then received them the following Tuesday. Bloody great service.

At the time I also purchased an as-new black HSV gauge pod for $90 delivered. I thought that I would receive it within a few days, but no...3 weeks later and still no gauge pod. Damn waste of time waiting for this lazy Aussie seller to get off his arse and send it. He kept making promises but couldn't follow through. I also just won the money back through Paypal.

Anyway, rant over... Just wondering where the best place is to buy a Genuine HSV gauge pod in black? I spoke to Holden and you used to be able to get the pod separately, but now you need to buy the complete setup...gauges and all. I've looked at Holmart and I can't seem to find the pod on their website. eBay have them but the cheapest brand new pod is about $200 delivered. Ive also seen the SAAS ones but they look a little weird to me. Can anyone direct me to a cheap place where I can buy this pod? Thanks

Mate on ebay there are SAAS gauge pods which look identical to the HSV but the pod is made to face the driver slightly which is better IMO.

If you are intent on a genuine HSV one, there is a seller by the name of ad_87 who has them for $180 last time I checked.

EDIT actually $190

I think I paid about $220 at my local dealer about 2 years ago, but that was trade price.

Thanks mate. Yes, ad_87 is the cheapest on eBay for $199.65 delivered. I'm set on the HSV gauge pod because it looks symmetrical. Do you have any problems with seeing the gauges from the drivers seat using the HSV pod? Or do they need to be angled to see them properly?

Aeroforce gauges would be fine, but I use analogue gauges and from the angle of the drivers seat you dont quite get an accurate view because the needle is spaced out a bit from the face of the gauge, if you know what I mean.

If the SAAS one was available at the time I wouldve bought it.

Also just because your buying the genuine article doesnt mean it fits perfect, mine rattles in place a bit which p!sses me off!

HSV pod works fine, I have it on my monaro with my aeroforce guages.

Try senatormike in the Classifieds he was selling a pod.

Thanks for the info Toddler78. Also I think Mike was selling the aeroforce gauges and pod as one & I'm pretty sure it's been sold.

Should probably revise that comment - the fit is fine but occassionally it rattles

Dont ask Holden for a HSV pod. Get the Monaro pod. Same thing half the price. Or it was when i brought mine. Paid about $120 from Holden spare parts a few years ago.

Mine rattles some times too depending on road surface.

I thought that the Monaro pod had twin bumps (like Mickey Mouse ears)

No they arent, the hsv pod is flat on the top whereas the monaro pod/adventura pod is two pods moulded as one

Hi Guys.
I am sure the standard 52mm Aeroforce or Analogue gauges will not fit in the Monaro/VZ pods as the opening is smaller.
Regards.

Hi Guys.
Just some pic's of mine.Genuine HSV pod/Aeroforce/VYss and the pod is angled toward the driver if you ever get a chance to look down on your car it is quite noticeable.
Regards.

That's right. VZ Monaro pod only accepts something like 42mm gauges IIRC.

You can still buy them as a genuine HSV part off dealers. One in Vic and one in Qld currently have them in stock.

As for comments about rattles, a few little bits of flocking tape under there should fix that. ;)

Plantedavo - do you know if they are transferable between dealerships? As in can I order it through my local dealer and they will source it from them?

Cheers

I'd ask your local dealer to see if they can order one out of HSV, or if not a HSV dealer, out of their distributor first.
Failing that, many dealers will order out of others if you pay the freight cost, or you can ring the dealer direct and see if they'll post it firect to you.
