ls7 clutches seem to be popular for the money. I have an xtreme clutch which has been fine, cost around $1000

Yeah the ls7 clutches are really popular amongst the GTO crowd. Affordable replacement that can hold up to quite a lot of abuse that a daily driver would encounter. Quite a few track them but i'd stick to the ls7 if you want stock like engagement and less than 600 at the wheels

Holmart sell them. Not 100% on compatability with the t56 mm6 though? Pretty low cost upgrade imo

I've just bought a twin plate act t1s-g01 clutch from the states and it was just under $1100 delivered (no slave)
There good for 850ft/lb of torque and have a pretty much stock pedal feel
I'm still waiting for it to arrive so I can give you a review of it just yet but from what I've heard around various forums they're great!

I got my xtreme clutch from an online store on ebay brand new with slave for $1000. was another few hundred to install, but the local holden dealer wanted $1500 to install an original...
I could be wrong but I think the ls7 clutches are around $700

Reckon your looking @ approx $350 to R&R labour only + clutch kit & consumables all depends on your attitude & that of the repairer!

I bought an Xtreme kit for my ute a little while back, got a cushioned ceramic button with H/D pressure plate, lightened cr-mo flywheel, slave cylinder and aligning tool for $1064. Installed it myself so no labour charge but it has been a fantastic clutch so far and I would be happy to recommend it to anyone.
As for labour charge IMO i reckon you would be looking at closer to $500 in labour for drive in drive out clutch change, especially if you supply them with all the parts so they don't get to put their mark up on it.
If you do go for the upgraded clutch, do yourself a favour and chuck in a braided line for the extra $70 or so that it will cost you.

Aftermarket if you plan on beating it often and want it to withstand the abuse. LS7 clutch is a good option for plenty of bolt on cars
Stage 2-3 clutches is what you'd want to consider. I've got an HD Textralia. It whines like shit trying to daily drive it, flog it a bit and goes away, just not the best daily driver clutch

Guess it all depends what you want them to do? A simple clutch kit change in workshop conditions shouldn't take any more than 3 hours!
If you want the gearbox oil changed, maybe braided lines, remote bleeder fitted, bellhousing relief air holes drilled then the install/labour cost will go up.

Remove & repair eg labour, consumables generally workshop supplies eg clutch fluid if you change the slave. Reckon be mandatory on a LS manual when doing a clutch kit!

Mate while the gearbox is out i would recommend replacing all the clutch components like slave, spigot, bolts, thrust bearing.
I just installed a Monster clutch, bought from the states kit came with everything i would highly recommend them.
