hey guys what would be the best cam to use in a 408 stroker on a daily basis and still make decent power and decent 1/4 mile time.. im looking at 3 cams a vcm3( 228/232 0.597 112 ) vcm7(232/234.0.596 112) or a vcm 12 ..I used to have a vcm 12 in my 6.0 ( 227/2270.600 lift 112) anyone with knowledge in this department would be great.. i dont want it to be to angry at ide (dont want cops attention) but have been told cuz its a stroker i will get away with a bigger cam... any infor would be great or some cam setups in a 408 stroker power figures etc

I have the VCM 3 in my car and its killer lumpy on idle - you won't like it if your trying to remain stealth

Is that in a 6.0?? Cuz apparently because of the more engine capacity it won't be as noticible in a stroker??

Mate the VCM 3 won't be that angry at idle in a 408, my mate had that in a 346 and while it's a bit lumpy I would imagine it to be very tame in bigger cubes
I would go a custom cam from flowtech induction.com will be a little pricey but at least it will be matched to what you have and can be tailored to suit your needs

There isn't much difference between any of them.. All pretty girly. Probably 20hp and 20ft/lbs at most.
Also having people advise on cams without drivetrain, intake, heads info etc is well, not really helpful.
You need to talk to your engine builder and explain what you need and how you want it to perform. If they are worth their salt it will be a doddle. The next most important person will be the one doing the 1's and 0's into the ECU.
I would go with the Comp 281LR HR13. 231/239 on 113LSA. Will have broad power/torque band. Slightly on the small side than what i'de use for a 408 but will have quite smooth idle and still get up and move.

Yea that's in a 6L. There's no mistaking whether the car has an aftermarket cam or not..
