When did LS1 go all commercial? It may have happened a while back, but I had never noticed. What got my attention was the eHarmony ad; that, and the funeral ad. Really, eHarmony. I completely understand the advertising and don't even care about it, in fact, it's probably good for the forum albeit a little annoying, just surprised I hadn't noticed previously.

There are ads? There you go... Has this not been a thread before? The ads don't pop up in my face when I am reading so I don't really care. If it helps keep the forum running so be it as I like it here.:)

Well put chukka :) .. You see less adds as you go from Guest -> Registered -> Validated as well .. :) The Eharmony or similar banner ads are geo-targeted and those banner spaces are managed by a third party similar to google ads etc. The aim has always to provide unobtrusive advertising (ie no annoying popups) whilst providing advertisers/sponsors decent exposure in return for their support, additionally the other primary aim is to continue to provide the forum to the community free of charge. The fourm could not continue to operate without this support due to the size and volume of traffic generated by users using the forum, I personally paid for the forum out of my own pocket for the first three years until the costs to run it became more than I could justify out of my own pocket.. :)
