G'day,

I've got a VX SS and started cleaning the engine bay when I saw a couple of things:

First is a wire that's going nowhere, any idea what it is?

Second is a loose plate, the RH side is loose, while the second photo has the LH side which has it done up with bolts. Previous owner just forgot to do it up? and what is the small rod that pokes through the plate??

Thanks

Wire is for the factory alarm horn.

There should be nuts on that, the "rod" is a rubber snubber.

As IJ said the wires are for the horn. I think the other part (mount without nuts) is part of the mount for turtle shell engine cover.

You can actually see an imprint of where the horn mounted under that torx nut.
