Hi all,
So after a night at the drive-in when it was time to dust off the the sugar from my shirt so I tried to bring the seat forward with no luck, it would recline but not come forward. After several attempts it's now fully reclind and stuck. I can manually move the seat to gain access to the rear and all the other functions work fine.
Only I can think of is the micro switch is dirty or packed it in.
Any help or suggestions or assistance will be greatly appreciated as the car is now a little hard to drive.
Thanks.

I had the same prob, go to an auto sparkie, the switch is more than likely jammed.

Agreed, will remove the side cover and clean out the switch other than night it could be the motor.

Keep us updated...
I'd say as the Monaro gets older we'll all begin to have these issues.

Is it a pain to do?

Yep I've made two attempts in the last few years to fix with no luck so put it all back together and gave up I just try now not to allow anyone in my back seat. I think the only way to fix it is to bypas the sensor in the seat base

Sorry I misread your op I thought the seat was stuck from sliding forward to allow passengers in the back. That being said though getting to the electrics all the same are just as hard

Well to took it apart and cleaned the contacts and micro switch. I did notice that when I would move the switch in the recline direction the relay would click but nothing in the opposite direction.*
I cleaned the unit and plugged it back in with out the rear harness conected and the relay would work in both directions. Once the rear harness was plugged in the switch would activate the recline function but nothing in the opposite direction.*
Seems there is a loss of signal or the motor has crapped out.*

By memory I think my wire was pinched somewhere.

Well I reset the system and the seat moved for a second or 2 and slowed to a crawl and eventually stopped. I needed to do this 4 times to get the seat to a comfortable spot so I can drive it.
I noticed though when I was in the car the seat would move when required but very slowly, apparantly the memory unit has issues remembering it's own settings so.... I will replace it and see how it goes.
