I recently fitted a ls6 manifold o my vt2 ls1. Also had injectors, throttle body on it.

But when fitted it was discovered the throttle body cable of the vt2 was too short?? The installer had to fit old throttle body to ls6 manifold.

I have since fitted a ported throttle body but again throttle cable too short.??? Ported throttle body is vy type.

I inspected and the area where the cable is attached to throttle body seems to have a larger turning area where the spring is over the vt2 throttle body? Did Holden make it more progressive? Seems like need more cable to turn throttle blade from closed to fully upen. Effectively the newer throttle bodies turn the throttle blade less with same amount of tension on the throttle cable. This is confirmed by now the pedal needs to be pressed into the floor to open throttle body fully. Before it used to fully open without pedal being depressed so far.

I modded the bracket to give the cable more length to attach to throttle body.

It now seems to have affected the transmission change up points. It seems to not want to kick down as eagerly. Need to really mash the pedal into the carpet to change down to 1st gear and get up at maximum revs before changing.

I did one a few years ago using the original VTII throttle body and had no such problems,
the intake manifold and injectors I used were from a VZ LS1 engine.

TB is the same. Cam for the cable is different. It will still fit. The cable is adjustable

How do you adjust the cable?

I took it to oztrack when they fitted manifold and they said the throttle body was wrong and that I had to use old throttle body. Cable too short

The cable is adjustable but I won't have enough adjustment to make it long enough.
Have tried it before.

So adjustment to bracket is required

So adjustment to bracket is required

does this mean vy throttle body is more progressive than the VT version which would have a more instantaneous throttle response?

swap the shafts over, use your original shaft

swap the shafts over, use your original shaft

Tried that. Don't know how to get shaft off. Took plate out and then what? It just don't come out

Simplest solutions is to go to Holden and buy the correct cable to match throttle body?
