Got a Vy S1 berlina and the clutch on the compressor keeps turning on n off. its. all over the shop, can jump in the car and it runs fine for 10mins and they plays up or does it straight away

Discovered it an hour ago and have tried to serveral things

i have pulled the relay while the clutch is engaged and put it back in, wont come on unless i shut off the engine and restart, even turning the a/c off n on wont do it.

ive wickled some wires around, nothing

does anyone have a clue or a diagram of where i can look.

When it is working, the air con blows nice cold air.

Obvious question: Is there enough gas? Remember it's liquid form and the pressure switch will disengage when it gets low. If there is just enough pressure to keep it going sometimes, that is usually enough to keep it cold.

It was redone about 6 weeks or so ago, so I'm assuming so, but i got no way of testing

Would be practically out of gas if the LP switch engages & stops the comp!

Air con is on as we speak, and it's nice and real cold, I I was out of gas it wouldn't be? It's been running fine for an hour or so

I was told by the local car air con place, one way to tell is go for a drive and keep it in lower gears to keep the revs up, see if it cuts out. If it cuts out with revs, it a gas issue. Of course they can measure it with their gauges, and if it's just be serviced I would take it back and get them to check it.

Very simple way to check without guages, is measure the air off temp @ the vents on recirc should be around 2-3 degrees if gas charge is ok. Also while your @ it & the air is on & running with engine going have a feel of the suction pipe leaving the firewall should be cool & sweaty, feel the liquid line should be warm or above ambient temp.
Good luck with it.
