Monaro CV8Z Windscreens

Howdy everyone, looking for everyone’s input regarding this question as me and a mate can’t work it out.

Windscreens for the CV8Z were supplied by Pilkington. On a recent inspection on a couple of CV8Z I have noticed I have Pilkington glass on my CV8Z (Oct Build) all round except for the front windscreen which has a logo named laminate (mines an auto)

I then compared my car to the other CV8Z cars both manuals one had factory tint (so I was told) and not sure about the other whether it was factory tint or not and they both have a different rear windscreen with the logo laminate instead of the Pilkington one.

Now both these cars are manual one of them was built in oct just a few days from mine and the other one was built late Nov (so I don’t think it was a supplier change).
Can someone provide any light as to why these cars have a different rear windscreen? Is it because they are manuals? Is it because they have factory tint? I have seen this in the past on other CV8Z so it’s not the first time this has occurred.

Mine's an 04 CV8 & I purchased it brand new (ie it's never had any glass changed). I've also got Pilkington all round - except for the front screen which is Laminate.

PB is your auto or manual? did it have factory tint?

On the Monaro's is there such a thing as factory tint, thought it was only a dealer fitted option?

yeah Im not to sure, Im trying to find out if a factory ever exisited or if it was like you say fitted by a dealer, but still kinda doesnt explain why there are two brands of windscreens getting around on the CV8Z. My series II Monaro has Pilkington all round

stab in the dark, but the contract with pilkington wasnt renewed for VE. this probably included monaro glass, so maybe they used up what they had and used a new supplier for the last cars...

Mines an auto & has tint fitted (by the dealer - it wasn't a factory available option at that time).

Jboy21 at this stage it seems manuals were fitted with the laminated brand and autos with Pilkington. It seems this stretches from first production in July until last in December. So it doesn't really shine light why two different type of rear glass

As has been said, no such thing as factory tint, the pilkington contract expired around then, auto or manual wouldn't have impacted the brand/type of glass, probably used what they had available at the time.
