I wonder if it would work with other cars moving around at the same time?

I wonder if when it backs into another car, does it just drive off or write a note?

I can see myself sitting behind one of those in a carpark and beeping the shite out of it for going so slow, only to realise there is no bugger in it. Can't exactly beat the crap out of a computer huh!

Pretty cool some of the stuff these high end manufacturers come up with, i would say this would still be a while of yet as it would need places to adopt the sensors that were all over the ground in the video, what are the legalities behind that if something goes wrong.

I ponder its music preference, or, if it see's another one of its ilke does it play the music louder or show off?

aside from all that, pretty cool, not long till we aren't dirving!

It would, you can make a car do anything you want if you have access to all its sensors and powertrain

So this is how skynet begins....

and yes, we really are that lazy in Americuh, that our cars have to park themselves.

This would be so much better for people with poor spatial awareness (some women and Asian drivers... :p ) to avoid scrapes on other cars or on the parking garage pillars. In fact, they could easily make the car park spaces smaller since you no longer have a need to open the door once the car is in the park. It's a bit slow right now but I like the idea.

Won't all VF Commodores have self (parallel) parking though the driver controls the gear change?

That's spot on, it will be introduced in time due to parking restraints, so those of us with older cars may have to retrofit a controller when parking downtown

I'm sure they'll have designated parking areas during any transition period. Kinda like those extra wide parking spaces for women in Germany and China... Are they implying women can't park? Nor Asian women? :hide:

if i seen one, i would run up and drop a orange traffic cone in front of it and behind it, to trap the bloody thing :). i used to have a few traffic cones in the boot of my car. i dont know why, or where they came from.

holy crap that's cool. bit slow though.

I was thinking the same a vendeTTR who will grab the ticket and pay for it. obviously we will never get it In Australia as most places you have to pay for parking. unless then trunk monkeys will be allowed, lol.

but yes will not be long until we can just sit back and it'll do it's own thing.

Parking stations will end up losing the ticket machines and run an e-tag like system. Scan as you go in, scan as you go out. Charge the amount to credit card or preload the e-tag.
I dont like the idea of fly by wire let alone it driving itself! lol

Highly doubt it, its a profit making exercise, if I can fit 30% more cars in the same space, its money for jam, its no different to developers building several units on a single block and charging more per square foot. It will come down to if you want your own dedicated space, you are going to have to pay for it

I am waiting for the day when self driving cars are available , i used to look forward to driving too and from work or going somewhere .
these days it's a chore filled with traffic jams , road works and revenue collection points.
