Peter Champion puts his extensive collection of Peter Brock racecars up for sale

Always dreamed of having one of Peter Brock's racecars in your shed? Here's your chance!

HDT Special Vehicles owner Peter Champion has put up his entire collection of Brockmobiles up for sale.

Champion, a former mining magnate, closed down his display of Brock's former racecars in Central Queensland around two years ago, and following a bout of ill health has decided to put all the cars up for sale.

"The time has come for the collection to move on," Champion said in a statement. "It has given myself and my team many moments of enjoyment and pleasure of sharing this collection with the general public over the years but the time has come for us to move on."

Among the collection are the Holden Dealer Team Commodore that Brock used to win the Bathurst 1000 in 1982 and 1983, the replica of Brock's famous Holden-powered Austin A30 that helped shoot him to stardom in the late 1960s, plus a collection of Commodore roadcars built by Brock's HDT operation.

The cars are being offered as a collection, but Champion is willing to sell individual cars.

Better start saving your pennies.

Race cars, rally cars, road cars - I'll take any, even the EA - though maybe not the Lada.

Wish I knew how to post the accompanying pic from the article here.

What a shame, would be nice to see this collection kept together. I hope some Motorsport Magnate may pull together the coins for this.
Anyone like to put a figure on this collection ????

I guess whoever pays the most for each/all of them will determine their price, and I am guessing somewhere $20 000 000+, but for me and no doubt many on here you just cannot put a price on these.

RIP Brockie, and get well PC

Think I was carried away with a guesstimate of $20+ million - I took the list on face value and assumed most of those race cars were the actual cars with log books etc. I had heard that one of the early 80's Commodores was the Harvey 25 car livered up as 05 (think the 1984 car), but did not know many of those race cars are replicas.

Not to say I would knock any of them back though - and lol at the Lada with 47kw: "The Porsche designed engine helped the Lada down the quarter mile at 19.2 seconds"

I've had the pleasure of seeing this collection up close and personal. Just amazing but not only the cars but the PB memorabilia and sound & light show. A damn shame to this collection of specific cars and history be broken up. Hearing the VK Big Banger roar into life that night transported me back to my teens.

For me it's the VK or the 69 Munro.....having the Brock O'Neil wouldn't be knocked back either....she's nice.

It's amazing how many people pick the O'Neill as their favourite.
Cheers, Pickles.
