Does anyone know if an OTR is available that would suit a single turbo setup.

Something like where the outlet side of the OTR comes out to the side (passenger side) instead of lining up directly with the T/B ??

Cheers

im guessing there is no point if you are running an intercooler.

Yeah I don't see the point either, the idea of an OTR is a short straight path to the throttle body, wouldn't have much benefit on a turbo/intercooled setup IMO.

So a pipe running air from outside the engine bay compared to the usual pod style filter on inlet of turbo in the engine bay would be no advantage? Interesting

Not sure if this is what your after but the older HSV intakes (im talking VN-VS era) sat above the radiator and ran to the airbox on the passenger side. Might be able to customize it?

Yeah exactly, I can't see any point either.

Put it this way, if you start off with cooler air you are already marginally ahead....... Intercooled or not

Yes, sure but you have enough piping and bends in and around the engine bay with a decent turbo setup
and fitting it in wherever would just make it too hard and a waste of time;)

Hole in bonnet + PVC pipe = win

On taxis yeah not much room, on jap taxis though got the room so use it

Absolutely,:yup::yup::yup:
could even get the old jigsaw out, cut a hole in the bonnet and fit a big scoop.:goodjob:

Just high mount the turbo.......above bonnet

Ran a CAI on my old Turbo I-6 car, noticable/measurable difference in charge temps pre and post IC, all depnds on available room though.

I can see the benefit of a CAI but not trying to fit an OTR type design in. Surely a well sealed pod would do the trick?
Pull the headlight out to race?

With you on that one WL, the whole OTR thing while it's proven and works is just strange to me seeing heat rises and what directly beneath the OTR ;)
(the "R" part)

IJ in what way do you think benefits a different design? I get the whole radiator being a heat exchanger however ambient temps when not moving will always affect IAT. Reverse cowl mini scoop on one side of bonnet for pod + pipe would be cool and probably not attract as high temps when at standstill

LOL Ash :)

I quite like the HSV/MCAI set up I'm using, could do with some insulation on the box and it breathes enough for my modest power goals ;)

I run a 4" elbow off the turbo and a large 10" pod filter in the cavity between bumper and front wheel.
Cool air and large area filter for the win.

easier/more effective to setup window washers on the intercooler to lower intake temps

Also not alot of room in the engine bay to run a good size filter, another plus for the bumper cavity.
I wouldn't bother with water sprayer, just go straight to water/meth injection and be done.
