Evening all, I have an LS1 (Auto) with a HTV1900; Approx 170000km on the donk and nearly 30k since blower and springs were installed (cam and rods went in about 6k ago).

Car is regularly serviced and not driven like it's stolen (gets nanna'd more often than not, but I do like scaring the odd bike or import......... *Evil Grin* ............)

Car is running fine and still pulls like a bullet train, but have noticed a 'bit' more noise under the bonnet in the last few 1000km's (valve train sounds noticeably louder - but I am to believe this is quite normal after caming a stock LS1, although it does sound louder on one side over the other); It also sounds like the screws on the blower (I also know these are noisy anyway) are a tad more 'grindier' (if that's even a word....). Not that I am worried, but just wondering if I should be considering a service for my blower (any idea of cost - drive in - drive out?).

Thanks as always,

Torborg

I've done similar km's on my HTV1900 and noticed a bit of belt noise developing, so asked Harrop about servicing recommendations. This is the reply I received:

"The Harrop range of HTV superchargers require no special maintenance as such.

The internal oil will last for the life of the unit, unless it requires draining for a repair or if an oil leak occurs.

You must use red organic coolant manufactured to AS2108-2004 specification, available from most auto stores/workshops.

If you are using GM coolant, the service intervals are the same as if the coolant was being used in your engine for example, otherwise please follow manufacturers recommendations for their product.

It is ideal to have a qualified technician check over the unit during your regular vehicle servicing, for bearing and belt wear or any abnormal noises.

I have attached a copy of our install guide to this email for you to read over."

I hope that helps. If you're interested in seeing the install guide, PM me your email address and I'll send it through.

i have done about 30k since blower went on , had the rear seal replaced /shaft /bearing /doughnut replaced as a unit at 10k ( HTV 2300 )

still running stock LS7 LIFTERS

mine has always had the cement mixer sound from the blower AT IDLE since day one , i was concerned about it for awhile , so i removed the blower belt and ran the engine ,all noise gone ,
even with a new drive doughnut ( inside the gearbox ) new bearings /shaft /and seal it was still the exact same , bumped the rpm up to 1500 rpm its all gone ,it appears to be the backlash in the gearbox ,made worse by the lumpiness of the cam
