Would anyone know if these coil covers would fit a Gen3 LS1 (see link and gallery). They mention LS2 onward (may suit other LS) but what would the difference be between LS2 and LS1? Looks similar
on the first pic in their gallery? Their tech instructions say you can hole saw out for the oil filler cap..Thanks for your advise in advance...

No idea, but FYI there was a difference in coil size/type between LS1 and LS2 onwards...

I see, thanks M8. Learn something new every day. Have to investigate further..

Yep, found that out the hard way when i went to buy coil relocation kits from harrop... The LS1 style kit put them on the back firewall on the passenger side as the ecu normally goes on the chassis rail (Didnt like this location). Whereas the LS2 kit has them on the chassis rail, as the ecu was moved on LS2 vehicles to the wheel arch/strut tower.

So the choice was to change from LS1 to LS2 style coils (normally requires changes in teh ECU but i hadnt had mine programed so it wasnt an issue). LS2 coils are apparently 5% more efficient with a slightly better spark.

You could order a set, if they dont fit convert over to LS2 style coils? (I paid $150 from memory for a set of 8) but you would need to get your tuner to make some changes (not exactly sure what).

Just brain storming some options....

I have these fitted to an LS3 in our Monaro.
As they simply clip on to the mounting bolts on the rocker covers they should work with an LS1 as well.

Do they fit around the brake booster or require clearancing like the Edelbrock ones?

Aren't the coil mounts different LS1 to LS2/3 etc?

Yeh, just like the Edelbrock's that I had on the previous LS1, they require trimming at the rear of the driver's side close to the brake booster.
However as they are a lot smaller than the aluminium Edelbrock's it is nowhere as obvious that they have been cut up.

I think they have 6 mounting points under the Holley covers, of which only 4 are used, so they may fit the earlier motors as well.
