Hi All
I am in the process of finalising the negotiation of buying a VF SSV Redline and was told today that I cannot option the full size spare on the redline model. The salesman said although it is on the options in brochure their stock controller is being told by Holden that it is not an option or available. Has anyone else has this experience when buying their redline? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
Cheers

Mate I have the full size spare and it was just a normal option $350 from memory its on my invoice. I did hear though that there was a wheel shortage a couple of weeks ago maybe this is why they dont want to give one out as a spare.

You're being fed the wrong information.
I just delivered one yesterday with a full size spare to a customer, make sure they sort it out.

I wonder if Holden are running short of Redline wheels due to demand?

I wonder if Holden are running short of Redline wheels due to demand?
When i ordered my Calais V with the spare rim to match the ones on the car it was an issue then with not enough wheels being supplied to keep up with putting 4 on cars let alone a 5th for spare.
And with the popularity of the Redline I am not surprised....

Holden have had to air freight wheels for Redlines due to demand. I wouldn't be surprised if they wouldn't sell them as spares given how much they would cost to air freight.

I emailed Holden this morning and got the following response (which suggests the full size is an option and not mention of running out?):
We write in reference to your recent e-mail correspondence received at Holden Customer Assistance regarding the 2014 Holden VF SS-V Redline Commodore.
We understand you would like to confirm whether a full-size spare alloy wheel is an option for the above vehicle.
We thank you for taking the time to write to us with your enquiry, and wish to advise that the 2014 Holden VF SS-V Redline does is available with a full-size spare alloy wheel as a factory option. It is only the compact steel spare wheel that is not available for this vehicle, as the size of the brake system on the rear wheels of the VF SS-V Redline will not allow the fitment of a compact steel spare wheel.
Should you continue to have concerns with your vehicle order, or have any other enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned on 1800 033 349, or via return e-mail quoting the above mentioned reference number.

CAS are as useless as tits on a bull. They have no idea what's going on unless they're pushed HARD and then they MIGHT go and find things out for themselves.

Yeah I don't get it, however I have known him for 9 years & he owns the dealership, it was just all too hard. Maybe due to the stagger ???

SSV Redline Sedan and Sportwagon are standard with either the full size alloy spare or the tyre inflator kit, both at no additional cost. The SSV Redline Ute is available only with the tyre inflator kit, no full size alloy spare available.

Full size alloy spare comes at a cost. It's not free.

Yep, sorry my bad. The Redline has to be ordered as a "G" pack to get the full size alloy spare, unlike all other VF's where the full size alloy spare is ordered as an option. Probably where the confusion comes in.

Mine came with a full size spare and it was a floor stock car I purchased. Lately there was press that Holden had a shortage of the wheels for the Redline and flew some in from the US. Maybe Holden is refusing to fit them as spares because of the cost in flying the wheel stock in?
Personally I wouldn't accept delivery of a Redline without the spare. It should be standard.
