Hi Guys,

Posting this one for a friend...

I've got a mate with an XB hardtop with a warm 302. Essentially just has a cam and basic exhaust and breathing mods. Anyway he isn't having much luck finding a good carb reconditioner. Two attempts so far by two different shops has left him with a carb spewing fuel out of it :/ Don't know which shops so don't ask. All I know is the last rebuild litterally lasted him one drive. Apparently done by a guy that does lots of drag cars so it would make sense it would only last for one run :P

Anyway the car is just a cruiser that he wants to drive nicely and rev cleanly. Anybody got any recommendations? He lives at Oxley but I'd say if the place is good enough he would be willing to travel between coasts to get it done right.

Thanks!

Theres an old bloke called Bob , out here in Toowoomba that is a guru with anything carby powered. Infact he hates fuel injection with a passion, i found out the hard way. I will do a drive by to see if the old fellow is still alive but this is the unit hes been operating out of for years.. https://plus.google.com/102937685429431876667/about?hl=en Similar story as your mate, this guy has worked on all types of dragsters over the years. Ive only heard positive things to date.

Hume Performance (02) 9602 9033 if you just need a carb exchange, rebuilt or new and plan on swapping it at home, have used them for years on lots of cars with 100% success. I know its not in Brisbane but due to my location in the middle of nowhere I rely on mail order and dealing with people over the phone and have never had them let me down for a very long time now.

Whers the fuel coming from? Put new bowl gaskets on not cheap shit cork ones either and just nip the bowls up and dont overtighten.Check float level if its coming out the top venturis. Prop easier to buy a new carb such as holley hp 650 or a proform carb which I like.
