But I bet it sounds
Two questions from a bloke with a blown 6L as yours sounds perfect...
1) Exactly how bad is it on fuel? In traffic, how horrible is it?
2) What kind of dollars (ballpark) is it to build an engine like this?

I am thinking if you need to ask 1) and 2) above you cannot afford it !!!
I would like to get a W427 one day and drop a 2300 on it....unfortunately it can't be approved now in QLD

Wow, that's a rather short minded answer... But I assume you were being sarcastic.
Not that I cannot afford it but looking at my blown setup but the time you do exhaust etc there isn't much change out of 20k, a few years ago. So yes I can afford it but seeing as I do 100+km a day, was interested to see what its like fuel wise...

1. around town fuel wise it wouldn't be any worse than some lead footed young blokes in "normal Ve's but hey its not a camry :)
1a on the open road it is just as good as the stock 6L( sure maybe a little bit more) but I was totally amazed at how good it was on a long run.
1b in traffic, only one mate has been able to control it :) very hard to control the surging
2. motor owes me around 28K (prob more)
If you want clean smooth power go for boost
If you want old school cammed grunt go N/A
Oh and wat r u doing in QLD JK?
have all the invoices available
And it is FOR SALE
(time for a AMG)

Very tough NA engine. Did u start with a bare ls7 block or did u strip down a stock engine?

Which AMG you looking at ?
Probably C63 4 door JK
But I still like the M3 BMW
(the young bloke is the engineer for #9 Erebus($$$discounts :) )
but realistically I will prob go for one a couple of years old
Don't think I can make myself buy a new car ever again.

Who tuned it? If you don't mind me asking
That cam isn't actually that big for 427ci

As Street Quick Performance built the motor I would guess they tuned it...

Well after a lot of research its hard for me to go past forced induction, a supercharged 427 might be on the cards, plus contemplating an all wheel drive conversion on monaro

If you go with 4wd try and convert a Mitsubishi EVO setup using a centre diff it would take a lot of work but if done would be awesome and you can get twin and triple plate carbon clutches that easily handle the grunt and motec dff controller might cost you more than the LS7 though lol as you might have to use a hollinger gearbox haha

Thinking about that again I dont think it will work as the engine would have to be to far forward for the centre diff setup.
