Well putting a twin turbo lsx in my vy ss.
Has Haha decent suspension setup also.
Hoping for low-mid 9's.

I would think that that would be achievable but the tyres are only a small part of it. I think on that set up the suspension will have a very big part to play on how well the tyres bite.
and also on your power delivery. I know of a stock ls1 with a GenTT kit in a manual ute with fe2 suspension doing 10.2 @ 140ish mph @ Heathcote if that helps

Hi Blair, was a lot of quick ls1's back in 03-07 when the shops were pushing the boundries. try a search on the drag for G & D - GMMotorsports as these 2 and others really pushed the boundries.

being 27.1 inch tall they have a decent sidewall height to allow a good 60ft with 3.45/3.73 gears low/mid 140ish mph will be possible with decent power of course low to mid 9s will be pushing it unless your a lightweight

What are you planning on running up front with that sort of ET/MPH? Have to ask why you don't want to run a full slick and cross ply front runner?

you can and should run crossply front runners with radial rear !!!it is an andra rule you must run cross ply fronts regardless of rear tyre construction when running quicker than 10.00 or 140mph !!! cheers

I will be running cross ply fronts.
I don't like full slicks, prefer radials.
Thanks for the info so far.

I was always under the impression that you should run the same on both ends. Full slick on the back, cross ply front. Radial on the rear, radials up front (but can't run under 11's on radials)?

If you run slick rear, must run cross ply front.
If you run radial rear you can run cross ply or radial front.

markone2 ran 10.15 in his nitrous fed white vz ute.
in other cars, i've seen 8.96 in a vl turbo
andra rule is radial rear but proper drag cross ply front (due to speed ratings being limited on narrow radials tyres i believe)

not sure mate I have gone ages ago 10.2 @134 maxing out the 26inch diameter of a 275/50/15 next pass with 27.3 inch slicks went 9.73@140mph with no other changes !!! I reckon I could easy go mid 9s with some tall 28 inch 275/60/15s maybe even quicker with my new setup!!??
