Just after a bit of opinion in terms of drive experience between the 2. And pics suggest a severe lack of rear legroom in the OPC, is it really squishy?

Bit hard to compare the two, but I'll give it a go having driven both. The rear seats in the OPC will seat three but sculpted to take two more comfortably. Rear leg room is less than the SV6 but not what I'd call squishy. Depends on who sits in the front (how far the seat is pushed back) and who sits in the back (tall or short) I guess.
The OPC is AWD, has paddle shift, 2.5L V6 turbo and handles really well. It has an OPC button that keeps the revs higher than normal, blips on kickdown and it's ready to go when needed. The OPC button also changes the dash lights at night from a white to a red. There is also a sports button but I can't honestly say I noticed anything different in revs, handling, etc, although I wasn't trying to put it through it's paces. If you want something that looks quite different to a run of the mill car, sporty to drive (not a V8 I know), has good build quality and you'd be happy to own, then the OPC is a good choice. I bought the base Insignia 2.0L turbo petrol for the wife and she's pretty happy with it. A lot of people comment on how good it looks. Didn't have the finances to get the OPC. Servicing costs will be higher on the OPC but not exorbitant. It should have capped price servicing. Not sure of costs out of warranty for repairs, but Opel do tend to be a lot higher. We didn't have many problems with the Vectra we sold to get the Insignia in the 8 years we owned it, so perhaps not an issue.
The VF SV6 is something I've driven for a while and I'm very happy with it. It's quite a lot cheaper than the OPC, but it also has a lot less in it. Having said that the OPC doesn't have touch screen even though it looks like it does, unlike the SV6. There are some other features the SV6 has that the OPC doesn't, but the SV6 is a newer model. The next model Insignia would probably have picked up these features, but it's all academic now unless Holden plan to reintroduce it under their name. I think the OPC is competing in a different market to the SV6, not HSV different but you get the idea. The SV6 is just a good option that doesn't cost as much, RWD and goes well for a V6. I'd be happy with either.

Cheers for the write up, I can get both cars for roughly the same price (OPC with delivery kms), but I'm keen to see what happens with the Holden version pricing when ever that will be be.
