After cleaning the car this morning I noticed the black SV wheels seem to be going purple (very visible in sunlight), is this normal for these black rims or have I got a dud batch? Car has less than 1000km on it so if not normal I will be claiming warranty.
Will post a picture if I can get a good enough one.

Thanks

You have the black rims on your Redline? Are yours really purple in the sun?

Not sure I haven't seen them in a while the car is still in the shop and Ive been away for a couple of months only got back a few days ago. I dont think they looked purple. Your SV ones are forged arent they. So bloody good wheels.

They look ok in the shade it's in direct sunlight they change. Never really paid to much attention to notice if it normal or not. Used a strong dose of morning fresh and elbow grease. Not really sure what to use as i was worried about the finish.

Yes they are the forged ones. If it was not on a Prussian steel car i probably wouldn't think much of it.
Can't seem to get a decent photo they all look black lol. Any way on a side note what is everyone else using on their annodised rims to clean them?

The wheels are purple-ish not black. Post up a pic but they are probably ok.

Hi guys,
My Gen F SV wheels do look purplish in direct sunlight and black in shade which is normal. The reason is that they are a Satin Graphite finish almost like a pearl finish.

Thanks guys I'll post a pic in the morning when I can get some direct sunlight on them.

I gave mine its first bath on the weekend and found exactly the same thing, I wondered what the carwash had done to them!

Wat did you wash yours with? It was also the first time I had washed it.

Wow, I've never noticed that ... I'll have to get mine in the sun and see what they look like, seems it may be completely normal?

Personally, I've never used anything but regular car wash to clean my wheels and calipers, never had any fading, HSV stickers have always looked like new, calipers always deep red ... I don't buy into all the "wheel cleaners", carefully washed with a soft mitt and quality car wash soap (2 buckets) has always done the trick for me.

Yeah I only used some morning fresh on the wheels, didn't want to use a wheel cleaner.

That's normal. I will see if I have a picture of mine somewhere as a comparison.
