CV8 centre console paint peeling

Can anyone help me please? I am considering buying a 2004 CV8 and have noticed that the dark grey surround around the centre console is peeling off and exposing a chequered pattern underneath. The same pattern to that of the dash surrounds. Is this common? How can it be fixed? I have pics but am unsure whether I can or how to post them?

I would check your local Holden dealer first, they still may be able to supply a new one, I have been surprised lately how much stuff is still available. I also have a 2004 CV8.

If it is a series III CV8 the dash surround should be matt black and the console surround in a grey carbon fibre look, for a VZ CV8 both should be a gloss piano black.

My V3 is the opposite, Carbon look surrounds and silver/grey console surround.
