I picked up a small nail on the outside contact area of the tyre (not near or in the side wall) on the weekend, in my almost brand new S001's :demon: . It seems to be relatively small judging by the size of the flat head (~4mm dia), but enough to get me a slow leak so she's gone through. I didn't drive on it flat, I saw it when the tyres got to about 75% inflation. I can't get the tyre to anyone until next weekend so I've blocked under the car to stop it from sitting on a flat and I'll take it off later. My question is, can it be repaired? as some suggest I do, some say I don't as the puncture is only small, and if I replace do I have to get 2 tyres? I can't really afford 2 new S001's right now but I will have to suck it up should safety be raised.

The first graphic indicates I have to replace the tyre as the nail would be in 'just' into the red section? The second indicates I can repair.

You'll probably find it will depend on the shop you go to and if they'll be confident in being able to plug it.

If you do need a new tyre, you won't need a pair, especially if this one (and i assume the other side) are very low mileage.

Repairable dont let the tyre shop tell you it isnt, if they do go somewhere else

I would definitely get a second opinion. It may very well be able to be repaired.

Happened to me about 2 yrs ago, took it to a couple local tyre places who wouldnt plug it, so bought a kit off eBay for about $10 and did it myself without any further dramas.

They should be able to fix it, but as it gets closer to the wall you'll have more problems getting it to seal, I have both the mushroom plugs and the rope type plugs, and a puncture I got a year or so ago, could not be fixed as it was to close to the edge. just kept leaking.

Been a week now since it was fixed (side wall wasn't damaged) and all good, and apparently Bridgestone pick up the bill on their high performance tyres if you go to where you bought them - something I did not know. So cost me nothing but a little bit of stress.
