Hey guys,

I've got a problem with my RHS tail on my E2 GTS, the brake and blinker work but not the tail light.
I decided to have a go at fixing it myself as I'm not keen on spending $900 on a new light.
I used a heat gun and a knife to remove the back of the light. Inside where the purple wire is soldered to
the circuit board is a little black resistor. When i tap or press on it the tail lights come on.
Does anybody know what type of resistor it is and how many Ohms and where I could buy one?
Maybe Jaycar?

If anyone was wondering, pulling the light apart was bait of a challenge and took about 1hr.

I bought some black waterproof adhesive that bonds plastic from supercheap auto to seal it back up.
Would this work or is there a better solution to sealing the light back up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

It might be a bad solder joint, try soldering it on the circuit board and see if that fixes it. I would believe the solder joint failing would be the more likely cause of the issue then a faulty resistor

I'd guess the same as toddler the gauges were prone to failing because of bad solder as well. But we'll done on doing it yourself, care to write a diy write up on it when you get a free chance, I'm sure it'll come in handy.

Yeah i think it is just a dodgy solder joint too but thought maybe get one just incase, but i will try the solder first and let you's know how it goes. I will also write up a DIY for others to check out :) cheers
