I really enjoyed this race, plenty of action & I thought the telecast was just reasonable. Posting of positions during the race was poor I thought,...Car make could've been included with car no. & driver,...and what about showing the action on the very last corner?
Bot overall I enjoyed it.

The Bentleys were amazing for a big Fat Car :)
Didn't like the Bump pass at the end that robbed Bell of a Podium...

Not too bad but very start/stop and the adds and sheer lack of date and telemetry from the cars was average.
The Nissan found a overboost button and a 100hp on that final lap. Just took off and got like 15 lengths in 1km

Straight line speed really hurt the Audi.
Very glad it didn't finish under a safety car.
Good to hear the drivers giving the track and event some kudos, one even said it was the best track in the world!

I only watched 25-30 laps all up during the day and have to agree with Mick. As for the Bentleys saw both punt people off so not bothered they suffered that fate. The GTR was the fastest car I saw all day so very fitting it won.
Were lap times posted at all? I don't recall seeing anything but there were comments about 3s and 4s, so about 8 seconds faster race pace than the V8s?

I was glad I watched the race on a time shifted basis so I could skip through the safety car periods and ads.
it seems to me that Ch7 didn't really think about how to telecast this race and include telemetry etc. they seemed to be more interested in having digs at v8supercars. IMO not a way to win fans.

Like I said, a really great race, but yes, the "details"/ telemetry if you like, could've been better. Yes,..lap times, gaps between place getters, makes of cars should've been posted up alongside merely numbers, & the "last corner action of the race", where 3 positions changed was totally missed.
But still, I thought the race was REALLY good. Some of the driver interviews were good, & seeing all these different cars was good too. Seeing a big car like a Bentley mixing it with snaller more agile cars was certainly something different.
I can see why our V8 Supercar drivers wanted to be involved, and I can see a bright future for this race.
I'll certainly be watching it again next year.

Went sat and sun and really enjoy the weekend , it's on par with Bathurst for attractions and atmosphere but without the rediculous crowds !

The Aston's like punting people off the track too. Pretty sure they put that car into the wall at the top of the mountain also. They should have copped a spanking for that and didn't.

I have been twice now and it is definitely getting a bigger profile for both competitors and spectators alike. 6000 more this year over last they said and I don't doubt it. Wanted to go this year to hear the Bentley's getting around the track but work intervened. Mercedes were the best sounding both years I went. Good to hear international drivers talking up the track. I'll definitely be looking to go next year.

Yes it did lack some of the polish the V8 supercars have. Am amazed to see a 12hr race televised full length though. Hopefully they will improve the coverage.
