You all know it so no point putting more pics up. My wife has just retired and received her super payout and wants me to get a sedan. :( (Typical bloody female reasoning - complains when we go away there is nowhere to hang good clothes in the ute.......)
Unfortunately she has me by the short and curlies as if I get a sedan now I am allowed to spend up to $30k more than I get for it using her super on a new car (she will be upgrading her car too), whereas if I wait too long that extra will be invested.
March 2009 built MY9.5 SSV A6 ute.
Genuine W427 front bar,
Genuine HSV front guards and flutes,
1 7/8" HPC Pacemaker Headers and 3" KPM system (genuine KPM, not a cheaper SLC system. Sounds great! Some say the best sounding VE they have heard)
DUS Mk3 OTR,
Chev tune,
DTM Shine rims (20x10 rear, 20x9 front),
H&R coilovers, (very compliant ride, unlike some other coilovers)
HSV steering wheel and A6 knob (red highlights),
Carbon fibre look dash strips and steering wheel inserts,
All lights are HID (35W low beam, 70W high beam, 70W driving lights),
Midnight Express tint,
Shark fin style aerial (recent addition - not in above pics),
Flattop hardlid,
Automatically opening/closing hardlid and tailgate,
Custom SSV doorstep protectors,
Small cam (223/223 @ 115) (lumpy idle can be tuned out if required),
Double row timing chain,
ARP head bolts and Cometic headgaskets (fully reusable if heads ever have to come off),
Door speaker upgrade, 10" subwoofer running off 4ch amp,
Doors double dynamatted,
HSV gauge pod with E3 HSV gauges,
Fully operational E3 HSV dash (looks awesome!),
Front Brembo brake upgrade,
Slotted rear rotors,
Puddle lights,
Grab handle installed above driver for my convenience (utes don't normally have),
Cadillac A6 deep transmission pan and filter for extra capacity and protection,
Upgraded security (for my protection the new owner will find out details after purchase),
283rwkw
The car ran consistent 12.8/12.9 at the 2010 LS1 Nats with a best of 12.83 @ 111.6mph as bolt-on only (before cam) at Heathcote with 260rwkw. Also ran 12.83 again @ 111.1mph at Heathcote with cam but on half worn 18" SS tyres into a strong headwind. The only way we could get traction was with ESP on yet it still span most of the way through 1st, 2nd, 3rd and even on the change to 4th!! With decent tyres I expect a mid 12. It has only ever been to the drags twice and I even bought a set of ET Streets over 2 years ago intending to run it again, but never got around to it.
Regularly gets 9.3 l/100km or so on 40+km trips into the city along the Monash Freeway and back (mostly 100kmh, some 80kmh).
83,000km, mostly highway/freeway given our location and 99.9% driven like Miss Daisy with only the very occasional straight line squirt.
One owner from new,
Never smoked in,
Regularly serviced including Castrol Edge oil and filter every 7,500km
This car has had no expense spared and puts a huge smile on my face every time I drive it! Given my disabilities I have never even driven it hard enough around bends to squeal the tyres and (shame! shame on me as a professed petrol head I know) I have NEVER done a burnout in any car, let alone this one.
Only ever had one warranty claim which was for the plastic seat base on the driver’s seat (very common) and has never had a mechanical issue!
The perfect car for someone who wants a car which stands out from the crowd without being outlandish, goes better than most on the road, stops well, sounds awesome and has had an easy life.
I will have a roadworthy check done and it will be sold in RW condition EXCEPT for exhaust and other modifications which I will leave the buyer to organise with a friendly mechanic they know i.e. I will make sure brakes, tyres etc are roadworthy but it obviously will not pass a proper RWC being so loud. I may be able to organise a standard catback for it to help pass a RWC if the buyer doesn't know a "friendly" place. :)
$29,990.
PS Had a towbar added last November and has only been used once to tow my tiny trailer and disability scooter from Officer to Paynesville and back. Car didn't even notice it was there. :)
