Weird radio code

The old doy died 6 weeks ago,anyway i inherated his cars the 2001 corolla accepts the radio pin works fine then you start the car and SEC comes up i have tried different ways but still drops out, even put the pin in with it running turn off and you get SEC, checked fuses and disconect the battery any ideas????

Sorry about your loss, I hope you are all coping ok. Lost my old man and then my wife of 15 years last year. Still coming to grips with it all.

About the radio, if you have checked ALL the fuses and the SEC lockout comes up after ignition off or crank it's probably an internal radio fault with the constant power or constant power wiring short/open. Would have to junk it most probably. Or you could put an aftermarket unit in.

Sorry to hear you Lost your Dad. It is difficult to lose a parent. Lost my Dad years ago and still have things pop into my head and thing I will tell him.

I agree with VTClubSprtR8. It seems to be losing the constant power. Maybe check if the power is dropping off at the radio when you crank (poor connection or something)?

Found it battery wasnt good enough new battery all good, wish all electrical faults were that easy.
