need a BIT of advice with my PS3

i have a ps3 that works fine with netflix on my pc screen using HDMI cable and a 3 way hdmi switch to my monitor ( dont use the 3 rd port on the switch )
i used to have the ps3 connected to my plasma TV in the lounge room worked fine for years then i moved it to office still working fine
then i got NETFLIX yesterday so i decided to move it back in the lounge room to stream NETFLIX HD to tv
now the TV wont read the PS3 ?? i tried a new 3 way switch and 3 different cables
all so i tried plugging the PS3 straight into the HDMI port on the TV by passing the switches ( only has 1 port old tv 10 years old ) i also tried the RGB
multi plug (BIG flat one) it used to work with before ,NO GO
i thought it must have died , so i hooked it up to another small TV we just bought with HDMI cable and the switch i was using on the big plasma all worked great
so reconnected to the plasma still no go ,so put it back in the office on the pc monitor works fine why won't it work on the plasma now ??
plasma tv is using a WD live and a CD player both connected through the single HDMI port with a 3 way switch all works fine so the port is ok and the cables are ok so is the switch
any ideas

try this

turn off tv and ps3

turn on ps3 first

wait 30 seconds

turn on tv

it might help but no guarentee

i did get it going after a lot of turning shit of and on and rebooting the ps3
