Well, here was me thinking that the blower was making a huge improvement in economy compared to the ute! Typically around low 11s at ave 50kmh compared to around 15 in the cammed ute. Was very happy with that till I began noticing litres used seemed to be reading low. Also, the further I went the less the total of fuel used plus fuel remaining added to 75 litres as it should.

Sure enough, when I filled it today with the gauge displaying 33.5 litres used for 301km since the last fill, it actually took over 43 litres, about what I expected from the fuel gauge which was displaying about 3/8 of a tank left.

What could cause this? Is it adjustable or do I for example need a new sender unit?

Cheers,
Gary

Does it have bigger injectors?

Yeah bigger injectors will put the trip computer readings out AFAIK
cars with aftermarket LPG injection dual fuel do exactly the same thing when they are running on gas.

VZ is adjustable in the Dash settings but has a really limited range..

Jez replied to me - looks like I have to learn to live with it. Limitation of the OS. :(

You can use a later ecm with os that supports larger injectors. This is safer for the transmission also as your torque values to the transmission also reas lower than actual. I have a brand new 09 senator ecm if you would like. You will need to repair/ update it with ths trans / tech2.

Is there any hardware difference with this PCM? Can a later OS file be flashed in & then the Tune file be installed to that?

Yes you cannot flash the later os in the older pcm.

Ok so the latter E38 you speak of must have more memory etc to run the other OS.
Gaz, what did Jezza say about this as an option?
