Hi guys,
I just brought my VZ SS ute had it for 2 days now and liking it a lot.. But there is an issue please help!!!

It has Otr, cam, full exhaust, no idea if heads or valve springs have been done anyway it has been tuned at Northern efi in Melbourne but every time I drive it I get to a speed any speed doesn't matter if it's 20km or 100km I lift my foot and it stays at that speed for a while (cruise control OFF)
When I'm stopped at a set of lights I have to have some pressure on the brake pedal to stop it rolling forward I just want to get some idea on what's going on before I call the tuner This cane be normal...

Thanks in advance..

What is your idle rpm like?
It could be a dirty throttle body or more then likely one of the sensors that is causing the blade to delay closing

It's about the 900mark

If it's got a decent cam in it with a standard or small stall, it will behave like you are suggesting. Does it drive itself to a decent speed if you let off the brake at idle?

Yeah might even get to 30 or 40km

I'd say it needs a converter mate.
Do you know who did the cam work or the specs of it?

Vcm performance part number vp-Cs Vick-21

So possibly a VCM 21?
They say it can work with a standard stall. Perhaps the tune needs some work... But from what you've described, it definitely sounds like it's under stalled

Was the issue evident when you test drove it before purchase or only since then?

I have VCM21 in my VE with stock stall and yes it pushes against the brakes a bit. Not hard to get used to IMHO. Mine wouldn't accelerate to 30-40km/h though, might make 10.

Sure the hole in the throttle body has not been drilled out bigger?

Reckon tuner has got throttle map changes to try smooth out return to idle. Or not, just having a stab in the dark without seeing it.

It really shouldn't. There is no reason for this beyond poor tuning. Most of the time it will be caused by one of the following:
Air leak;
To much throttle cracker air;
To much desired air;
To much ign advance at the effected area.

There are a few other reasons why this could happen. But those are the most common that I see.

I will take it back to the tuner when I get a chance and take it from there... I call another tuner to see what they think and he said possibly will need a stall so will see how I go

It absolutely does not need a stall. Its only a 217/225. I wouldn't put a lot of faith in any tuner that is telling you that you need a stall to rectify this very simple drivability issue.

Head over to APS in Frankston and Luis will fix it for you no problems at all. There is actually a dyno day on this weekend there if you give the shop a call they can put you in touch with who you need to talk to to enter if your keen. Alot of guys who have had work done by APS will be there for you to chat to. Since your new you aren't yet aware of who to and who not to get work done by. I'm a tuner myself and there is no one else I would recommend more in Melbourne.
