Plenty of outgoing VF1 deals going on at the moment, would there be much difference between a mildly modded VF1 and the LS3 VFII?

I would buy the VFII purely for the LS3 !!! Then mod it :)

No not much difference until you mildly modified the LS3.
I actually think the stock tune for the LS3 in the VF2 is a bit to soft and believe my tuned VE (L98) with a full exhaust feels much stronger low down in the rev range.
Still the LS3 would be my preferred option.

Guess it all depends on long term goals? The VF1 with that Tekno pack is netting some very aggressive results for the L77. I do like the LS3 & as many have said is great as is or mod it to your hearts content.

Forgot about this. The budget though is VFII bone stock, or modded VF1 (power pack, plus a few other tweaks like audio)

I’d go the bone stock VF2 because one day your budget may renew again and you’ll already have the LS3 to play with and the audio which would never mean much to me but could also have an aftermarket upgraded some time in the future.

Looking at the utes 3.27 A6 & 3.70 M6 looking like HSV ratios.
