I had my rims stripped professionally (with liquid not sandblasting) and dropped them to a place I was already paying $1000 to ceramic coat my 3 inch zorst to powder coat (all part of a big spring clean overhaul which included fitting 6 pot willwood brakes hsv dash etc to the VE)

The pictures are how they did the job..... what would you do?

Very ordinary job indeed, did you pay them?

I can’t use the word I’d like to here, so make up your own and that’s what I also think of that job.

If the place is reputable they’d be ashamed of that job and should fix it without fuss.

The fact it got through their quality check would worry me.

I think they should stick to coating exhaust components...... At least they're hidden under the car out of sight.

Maybe a bird shat on it whilst in the process?

Yeah well I am not after validation but good to see what I felt was not wrong...I was just gobsmacked when I saw this, I mean his WHOLE business is about coatings for guys like us that want it spot on and happy to pay. The attitude though - that's what nearly got a peaceful fella like me to the point of physical violence... this is what I got when I pointed out half his workshop floor was on my rims - "mate I'm too busy to f**k around with these rims - I have done them twice - powder coating is an industrial process and some sh*t is bound to get in... I can do them again or give you half your money back"... now I wanted to hold him by the throat and explain I would like him to strip his backyard sh*t off and give me ALL my money back and return the rims as I had dropped them off... but I had booked the car in to fit the HSV dash and cluster and with Christmas coming on the car has already been off the road for three weeks.... so I took half the money back and vented on the internet.... the lingering trouble is if this is the attitude for wheels - what sort of ceramic coating job did this nong do for $1000?..... so to all and sundry if you want to know who to steer clear of PM me...

I will wait till after xmas and just do it all again somewhere else of course....

Don't blame you for being upset obviously this guy is complacent in his work & really lost interest in the profession, if the offering is the best he can provide! That person should not be in business period.

Shame you got given that poor quality of workmanship. You had every right to be cranky. Seems to be the norm than the exception these days.
