I have a Vz calais V8.

Its had a new transmission differental installed. Currently has 155k on cluster.
Very well looked after motor and always ran 98 octane.
it has the following mods

pacemaker 4 into1s extractors with brand new 100cell high flows and twin 2.5 exhaust system
plus it has a tune and duspeed otr. also 1.8 roller rockers.
car is automatic and running 373 diff gears.
I have also installed a baby cam lunati 212-218 cam to this car and I love it for what I need. Car drives so much better and goes a lot better.
The cam states: Hydraulic Roller Cam. Excellent increase in torque and mid-range HP. Very wide power band with very crisp throttle response. Great LS6 replacement performance cam.

The car runs really well and performs flawlessly.

I do feel the extra torque and needs less rpm to get going.
But on the dyno it only made 30nm torque more compared to stock cam.
It it suppose to make more then 30nm. I was thinking if the standard heads are restricting it from more torque or if I should change them to max benefit?

People please advise

LS1?
It may have only made 30Nm more at the peak but what about the rest of the rev range? I'd say it would have picked up torque just about everywhere.
Were you also comparing it to the results with 1.8 rockers or a dead stock motor?

You will gain more torque with decent heads and is the next logical step IMO. Higgins is the man to speak to

1.8 rockers with valve springs with a stock motor.

From memory my Monaro with intake/exhaust/tune and 216/220 cam went from 268 rwkw to 296 rwkw with the addition of 100 cell cats and Higgins ported 241 heads. It felt stronger everywhere and actually made the car feel exciting to drive as to be honest I found it a bit lackluster before. A few people said don't bother doing the heads with such a small cam but it worked well for me.

It's only a tiny cam, if you want more up top you should have gone with a larger cam. It will be a nice street cam with gains in the meaty part of the rev range where you'd generally spend most of your time. As said, you will gain a bit more with heads but if you specifically want it up top then it would probably be worth changing the cam while they're at it.
