Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good tuner for Brisbane Northside?
Thanks!

I am keen to hear what everyone says too, there is always Powertorque, but from what I have heard, all the good guys that were there are gone, and they still want $1200 for a mafless tune.

Wow! From what I know that is way over the top for a tune these days, especially if all their recognised tuners are no longer there!

Mark still owns Powertorque so the best tuner is there.

I could not get my mind around what you posted so I phoned them to do the old price check.:yup:
I was told $1,300 for a mafless including them supply & fit a new VCM OTR, otherwise they had much cheaper options available without supply / fitting the new OTR.

How much for just a tune? Nothing else.

Phone them & ask them mate.
I am sure they would be as competitive as any other professional tuner on the price of a full dyno tune.
(To me, obviously within reason, who is tuning it is much more important than just the price.
There is more than one tuner around who would not get anywhere near touching anything of mine even if they paid me!)
The lady I spoke to on the phone sounded like she knew what she was talking about, very friendly & very helpful.

I think you should be able to rely on the reputation of a shop for quality control standards,
I think if the shop owner had any reputation he would want to look after it.

That makes a lot more sense as the VCM OTRs aren't cheap!

Could always try Hi Torque (5500 6512) on the coast, worth the travel. But each to their own

either Hi Torque or Power Torque. 2 best shops in SE QLD. Last time i got a tune from Hi Torque, they were about $880 to give you some idea. They would be my personal preference also.
Are they still around? I thought they went bust years ago.

They calibrated my speedo and touched up the tune in my car about two weeks ago.

still around mate, depending on the time of the year its pretty hard to get booked in. Built my stroker late last year and service the Kluger :).
Apparently its proximity to harbour town has noting to do with it being my wifes preference for the odd trip. Needless to say the cost in fuel and the service is cheaper then toybota in brisbane

Louis at APS is pretty famous around here,
have read a few very satisfied reports from members on the forum.
Recently had him do a tune for a very good mate of mine
on his head & cammed Whipple supercharged stroker Caprice.:driving:
