On the market for a set of wheels for the SS. Im after 17x10 as ive got 275 radials for the rear. I was looking at weld prostar but not sure they would suit the car. Interested to see what you guys can suggest.

Cheers

Most people just put them on 8 or 8.5" rims. Maybe a 9.5" if you really wanted to. Are cosmetics really that important for a few runs at the drags?

Ive seen people get a 10" wide wheel with coilovers. They are street radials so its a street/strip setup that im after

As in MT ET's?
Do they have a load rating on them? If they're MT's they won't, so they're not street legal.
They're "street radials" because they're legal in the US. Not so here...

But there's a few pics here to give you an idea of the look. I think they look tough, that old school sort of feel.

rears only?

as you can't un 17x10 on the front without ditching the std suspension and putting in raised perch coilovers

Out of interest, what is the rating for the 275/40R17's?
Are they the new Street S/S?

I'm interested to know when and why they started putting load and/or speed ratings on them as they've never had them and don't require them in the US. I'm also not sure if they are going to keep making them or if they've stopped already as the ET Street R and Street S/S are supposed to be their replacements but their sizes aren't very user friendly for me.

But if you're going to run them on the street, you'll want another set of tyres for the winter!
