Thinking of upgrading the brakes on my VZ Monaro. Currently have the stock brakes. Anyone used the D2 brake calipers? https://d2racingsport.eu/big-brake-kits/car/holden.html
It is almost impossible to find a set of original hsv harrops to suit as it was a very expensive option box to tick back in the day. Compared to the VE-VF, which have the Redline Brembos and AP racing for the HSV's, there isn't much on offer for the VT-VZ models.

Why not go directly to Harrop?

There is loads on offer for VT-VZ.

PBR 330mm or the monobloc 355mm.
Harrop/HSV 343mm or the aftermarket Harrop range from 343mm to 381mm
AP/HSV 355mm or 362mm.

Used sets come up for sale every now and then, just have to be looking in the right places. Or have a chat to Matt at Race Brakes Sydney, he usually has some good upgrades available.

Also very easy to get the US Brembo stuff working on them using local discs.

Have a read thru here for an idea on the cheaper stuff like D2, XYZ etc...

I know a few people who have used the K-sport/D2s etc no complaints but they are really only doing it for looks and not for performance. I don't know anyone personally who gives them a hard time, someone would be using them for track work surely.

This is a 370/350mm Brembo 6/4 piston combo on my VX. Using a Itsme4g63 kit.

It is pretty good, but the offset of the rotors/caliper is painful. You are pretty much limited to select VE wheels or concave setups. Maybe on the factory offset to suit more common VT-VZ rotor options/sizes. It works for me as I wanted wider rears anyway and the car to look as stock as possible from the outside.

Anyone who is switched on will know something isn't right, but it only has a baby cam shaft in the 230s with the 400 cubes and I'll aim to tune most of the lope out. The exhaust is tame.. and it all fits within the factory sheet metal.
