Ok so I had a few beers got a bit excited and ordered an exhaust online.
its a Manta 3" cat back in mild steel for an auto E3 Senator.

Yes i ****ed up and should of ordered a 2.5" twin system.
The drone is killing me.
Is there a reasonably priced fix??
or do i just pull it off and sell it?

Dont drink and shop online.

Cheers in advance Jimmy.

Jimmy, a big set of extractors, hi-flow cats & a tune might help:idea:

I know how you feel, I have bought some stuff online after a few drinks that I wish I hadn't as well!

Anyway, AFAIF they are good on a manual so it shouldn't be hard to sell.

I know it will drone a bit, even the factory pipes had a slight drone, just wanna reduce it now and some of the vibration that comes with it.

A mate of mine bid & won a Yellow Monaro on evilBay, in contrast it turned out a great car!

Easiest option is to sell it and move on...

Don't waste your time trying to (Modify / Changing Bits & Pieces / Mixing and Matching Mufflers) your'll be chasing your tail going round in circles...

Was yours the "Medium" or "Quite" System option from the Manta web page?

it was the medium. I love the sound of it when its revving but the drone is just killer.

Catback only will drone like a mother****er. You have air being restricted via standard manifolds and cats, then it bounces around like all **** after it's been slowed down then smashed out to big pipe. Match a big set of 1 7/8" headers and highflow cats to it (both with 3" in/out) and it will sound mint.

Agreed, fit decent headers and cats....

But TBH it's literally the first time I've ever heard anyone complain about drone on a Manta system!

I've seen a number of complaints on Manta droning eg http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?155337 but agree that decent headers and cats may alleviate it.

There is an easy solution yes!!!
Order a new camshaft package, headers, cats and boom! Problem fixed :)

or just whack on the rear mufflers, thats where all the drone comes from. see only about a 20whp gain in a stroke 402 with stock mufflers vs open pipe. downside is car will be dead silent with the stockies on again.

i spoke to manta, they agreed its the wrong system for the car and i needed to buy their center mufflers for the system to quiet them down.
