HELP! VY rear electric window won't go up...

Hi Guys

On the weekend I had a rear passenger put my passenger side electric window down a couple of inches.
When I got home I tried to put it up using the driver switches in the console. It won't go up but it will go further down.
I tried the switch in the door, same thing, down but not up.

I pulled off the trim and swapped the switch for the other door, no change. Even tried slamming the door hard to "free up" the winder...

Any ideas?

If switch & wiring are sound, window actuator/motor must be fukked.

That's what I'm fearing! I don't even know how they got the thing in there. It looks like they built the door around it!

In the meantime you can push it up by hand and tape it closed
Common the mounts die. Both rears in 3 months
I got a replacement from the wreckers. Expensive new

Thanks Listy, I've tried pushing it up by hand from inside the door, but it doesn't seem to want to budge.
The tracks look good and electrics seem OK. It's looking like the actuator.

I just found the manual on removing the actuator. "Drill out the 5 rivets using a 5mm drillbit". Really, rivets?

Could be a faulty master switch, if you know anyone with the same car you could try swapping them.

happened to me, get a second hand one and replace it. not that difficult.take out the door lock and unplug.replace door lock mechanism.
plug it in. should be happy days.u will also need to remove the door trim.take ur time.its a fairly simple job.
