Hi all,
I have a query about an HSV Avalanche re the transition from VY series 2 and Vz. The avalanche in question has a build plate indicating December 2004. The VIN has it as a 2005 model and has a 'Z" indicating a z series - however, putting the VIN into HSV's vin authentication brings a VY series 2 result).
It has a transmission code of MD6, which according to this site indicates a 4L65-E transmission:

I thought the avalanche got the z series upgrades only from March 2005 and the 4L65-E transmission was a z series change. Does this mean the Avalanche I am looking at ought to have the earlier 4l60-E transmission OR did the avalanche always get the 4l65-e, even in Vy series?
Thanks very much for any help you can offer,
Scott.
