I had one of the first ever KPM 3" catbacks in my 07 A6 SSV and it droned like a mofo so as soon as they had a redesign they sent it to me no charge - was perfect! Have since had 3 full 3" KPM systems inc on that car and love them!! If you're interested I put a few vids of my cammed SSV A6 ute in http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?170928.

Thanks wonky so your system is current line kpm sell, never heard one in person but everyone swears by them.

There are now actually two types of KPM systems. The original made by Exhaust Technology who were in the building right next to KPM before KPM moved (less than 3.5 years ago I know as we were in Adelaide April 2014 and they were still in the original spot) and then in maybe 2011??? KPM introduced what they called their SLC system. That's what Mike had put on the Senator I now have. I believe (not sure) some parts of their SLC systems came from China, therefore it was possibly an attempt to address the "KPM systems are too expensive" complaints. They weren't significantly cheaper but whilst they sound OK they are not as nice as the genuine ET (Exhaust Technology) systems.
The system on my ute was the real KPM/ET system.
I don't know if their SLC systems caused a rift between them and ET but if you're looking I'd deal with ET direct!

Thanks for that looking on ET website the system looks identical to the one kpm sells but you tubing the newer systems don’t seem to sound as deep as the earlier ones. Which properly due to a different muffler. What I’m looking at is just a rear muffler change, been quoted $1000 for magnaflows at this stage , problem is if they go on , it’s a unknown if they’re drone or not
Exhaust shop said also consider replacing the long redo in the centre with straight pipes or small hotdogs .,,
