Hi,
If you driven both the VF and VF II V8's what differences have you noticed (this could be Calais, SS and Caprice)? Can the VF be made to sound as good as the VF II with modest modifications to the exhaust? Is the difference in power and torque quite noticeable?

VFII just has extra punch(power and the lower diff ratio combined), wasn't a fan of VFII exhaust so fitted aftermarket 3".
VF1 does have CD player though.

Had quite a few LS's over the last 12yrs now & the 6.2L is something special. Don't get me wrong the 6L's are great with good flowing L92 heads but the LS3 finish them off with sodium filled lighter valves, more torque & a few extra cubes. Great package for mine, even in stock form!

If you're going to mod it the difference is 3/4 of **** all. The cam is nicer, the exhaust sounds better, but a lot of people will swap those out anyway.
The diff gears are nice, but if you want the best package you should match your diff gears to your power output anyway.

I'm just thinking about buying a more modern reliable car at the moment. I have two cars at the moment and may add a third or sell one. VFII sounds like way to go if you have the budget, I'm not sure if it is worth it. The only mods I would consider is exhaust and changing factory speakers. I like the sound of V8 and don't need lots of power. I haven't had a chance to drive VF and VFII. The WNII Caprice is allot of car for the money.
