I think rumors of a new el camino have been coming up every year since they stopped building them.

I think it's a shame Holden never sold the HSV & Commodore utes in the USA.

I am sure they would have sold quite well

When they were selling the G8's (VE commodores) in the US there was lots of talk while the G8's where still on sale (towards the end, before the G8 was dropped from sale in the US), that they were going to introduce the UTE into the US market...

But the GFC and GM almost going bankrupt, totally killed the idea at the time, once the G8 was dropped from sale...

Hey it's all too late really now

but GM really had nothing on sale in USA to compete with a Maloo or SS ute

so I can't see that they would have lost any home grown sales anyway.

I just reckon it's a shame it never happened.
