I have found that those sticky semi slick tires are useless until you get some heat into them.

Had them on mine but every time I tried to get away quick mine span the tires like crazy.

With normal radials it grips much better when the tires & weather is cold but obviously not as much grip as when you warm the semi slicks up

but heck, you can't go around doing burnouts to warm the tires every time you take the car out.

I start mine up & bring it to operating temperature once every 3 or 4 weeks over the colder months,
I leave the battery disconnected all the time, it sits under a car cover at the back of the garage.

Only Semi's I have ever had experience with are Federal 595's, they were awesome when cold and even better when warmed up, very good price as well. Unfortunately they don't do them in 20's. I do the same with the start up, crack a beer after doing the lawns on a Saturday and just let it sit there and make noise. I put my CTEK on it most of the time, never had a battery issue since using that with the Optima Red Top.
