Hall just a question ,today i go out and start the SS and get SRS warning WTF was fine yesterday ,the only issue it had was the alarm went off by itself for no reason ,this has happened before but during summer on a stinking hot day ,it has happened before at night time but that was about 5 years ago maybe more ,i do know how to disarm the alarm it has 2 factory and (aftermarket little black bugger under the bonnet with black wires)was this way when i bought it .
Any ideas what would cause this and how do i find the so called problem and get it cleared i guess i need someone with a Scan tool to do this .
I have checked all the connections down by the seats and they all look good from what i can tell ..
Thanks
Wayne..

Hi, Had the same SRS error on my CV8 this year and the scan showed it was the left hand seat belt. The guy cleared the error 3 times as per GMH protocol and it has never happened again.

Hey Wayne, I think you should buy one of these sorts of things if you have a laptop?
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ELM327-OBD2-OBD-II-USB-Interface-Tool-Car-Diagnostic-Scanner-Cable/122758066077?epid=14007875671&hash=item1c94f36f9d:g:J2wAAOSw~l1Z5cyY
You can also buy a bluetooth model that you can use on your phone (I have both types)
but I find the laptop cable seems easier & gives more features & has more options for scan tool programs etc.
There is a large thread about the bluetooth version, they are not expensive either.

I didn't think the OBDII adaptors did the SRS system?

I do have one for my phone ,i have had it for years but i think its shit its nest ,it wouldn't work with my NOTE 4 and i will hazard a guess that it won't with my 9+ ..
And i did see somewhere that the SRS codes are stored else where not in the PCM.
I will go over things tomorrow had a busy day yesterday and a lazy one today it just annoys me ..

You are correct you actually need an aldl cable with the correct soft to interrogate SRS on VY's. The cable runs out about $70 & the soft can be found on the net for free! ;)

My mistake, with bloody Holdens you need a better scanner!
I even just went outside in the freezing cold to double check.... then I remembered when it would not read them.
I have had to go & get a mate of mine who works at a Holden dealership to clear them in the past.
I can however connect & do them on Australian Fords & many other cars though.
I just hooked in with my cable on my Audi & my daily Ford without any problems.

Yeah it depends on what you want to read/write on these models, the VZ's were more trickier with the different bus to the Vy's!

Ed don't really like endorsing peeps but Jason from Envyous has decent cables, can buy aldl ones for less on evilbay though don't always work properly too. Once you get the cable I will hook you up with the free soft.

Mick, thanks but I don't think that one would suit me.
I have cut & pasted something from their web page below..
"The supported Holden Commodore vehicles for reading engine and transmission data with an ALDL cable include:
VR V6/V8
VS V6/V8
VT V6
VT 5L V8
VU V6
VX V6
VY V6
SuperCharged V6
Note: Not suitable for LS1 V8s, See our ELM kit here."
So I actually don't think it will suit my needs.
My son has a decent Snap On scanner at his workshop but if there was something cheap which would do more other vehicles I might consider it for around home.

Ed is more so to address the body functions eg srs, cluster etc, the software is the crucial part with the aldl cable, pm me for more details.

So after clearing the SRS warning i hop in the car tonight to pick up my son from the train and i have another light on looks like a temp light same row as the SRS one the weird thing is its only on when moving as soon i stopped in the drive way it went away ,i will get onto it tomorrow when i can see ..
Coolant level is fine ,am thinking i have a charging problem to ,i have replaced the battery did that last week but the light on top is not green ,car only doe's short trips probably doesn't help the old battery i put in our wagon to get it going ,put the new one a Century 560 CCA in the SS..
Car starts fine and runs fine just more things for me to look at .
